The Look Beyond Oil Conference is a platform for driving economic diversification in the Niger Delta and Africa. With the global shift away from fossil fuels, the conference fosters discussions on sustainable industries such as renewable energy, agriculture, and digital finance. It brings together government officials, international organizations, researchers, legal experts, business leaders, students and community activists to explore solutions for transitioning beyond oil dependency.
The conference aims to create a roadmap for sustainable economic growth by equipping young entrepreneurs, farmers, and businesses with resources, funding, and networking opportunities. It also advocates for climate justice, policy reforms, and investment in green industries.
The first edition highlighted the environmental and economic impact of oil dependence, attracting over 150 physical attendants and 300,000 online views and participation from key decision-makers. Building on this success, the second edition will
introduce scholarships for agriculture students, an exhibition of renewable energy innovations, and discussions on scaling green investments. It seeks to inspire actionable steps for a sustainable future beyond oil.
